Carpet phenomena are not results of manufacturing errors but are common occurrences for natural materials. Below are tips in dealing with some phenomena that may occur throughout the life of your carpet.
1. Shedding
In the first few months of your carpet, you will notice that it looses a lot of fibers. This is not something to be alarmed about as this occurrence is likely to subside through the years.
2. Sprouting
Sprouting refer to fibers or tufts that extends beyond the carpet's surface. When you see start seeing sprouts, don't pull them out - trim them.
3. Wrinkles and Ripples
Wrinkles and ripples are often caused by high humidity, improper carpet installation and sliding or dragging of heavy objects. Ask a carpet installer re-stretch it to avoid further damage and accidents.
4. Dark black lines
These unsightly lines are basically airborne soil and contaminants attached in the carpet. They often appear along the edges of the wall and under the doors. Once they appear, they can be difficult to remove. However, you can reduce this occurrence by keeping the air inside your home clean. Reduce air pollutants and be sure to change your air filters regularly.
