Tips to Clean Hardwood Floors without a Lot of Hard Work
Published on Wednesday, 08 June 2011

Clean and well-maintained hardwood floor adds value and beauty to your home. Take these easy cleaning tips to heart and your floor will stay spotless and shiny for the years to come.
Sweep frequently
It does not take a lot of effort to sweep and dust off floors. Regular sweeping of floor keeps dust and grime from soaking into the hardwood.
Keep it dry
Water is the arch nemesis of hardwood floors. If you see a liquid spill on your hardwood floor, attend to it right away. Be sure to pat or wipe the surface dry to keep it from deteriorating.
Vacuum religiously
Hardwood floors have to be vacuumed once or twice a week. Be sure to use soft-bristled attachments to avoid scratches. Scratches not only reduce your hardwood's floor sheen, but trap more dust too.
Lift, don't drag
When arranging furniture, ask someone to help you do the lifting. Or, use furniture sliders so you can effortlessly glide them across the room without damaging the floor.
 Shoes off!
High heels and rubber shoes may leave cuff marks on the floor.  If you already have some of these ugly marks, try using a pencil eraser to rub it off.
Leave mats
See to it that all the entryways have mats so you can avoid carrying dust, mud and grime inside your house and into the floor.
As you can see, it does not take a lot of time and effort to clean hardwood floor. With these quick tips, you can ensure a charming and a well -maintained floor in the next several years.
